This morning on NBC’s Meet the Press, Tom Brokaw posed the question to Nancy Pelosi that Barack Obama failed to answer at Saddleback Church: “When does life begin?”. Here are Pelosi’s talking points:
I’ll be adding to this post later today.
OneMom
The profundity of Mrs. Pelosi’s will willful endeavor to miss direct the ear that hear her and more importantly the usurping of the rights of those will cannot, leaves one to cry bitterly for the innocents or to shout loudly.
Life inside a mother is
• Life
• The nature of which is obviously an unarguably human.
One may pursue an intellectual pursuit that may end with the correct, an incorrect conclusion or the lack of knowledge and wisdom to decipher it.
But when the life of an innocent is balance, much less the lives of millions of innocents, how does a so called Catholic suggest that this question is academic and without conclusion.
This is the reason as a democrat from a young age, I am, in good continence unable to even listen when such politician obfuscate the truth to further political aspirations of power.
Lastly, please remember, Mrs. Speaker, wife and mother, that a mother can not kill her child so indiscriminately that her live not be profoundly touched … forever. Further remember that you have a part in the murder of such the most innocent and defenseless of God’s children and leading the thought of these poor mothers who rip the life of their children out of their own bodies into a false understanding of the true nature of the irreparable harm they do … to the child and their one persons. .
May God have mercy on you,
I have read the first four comments on Nancy Pelosi and her pro-abortion rhetoric and think each of you have made good points for the pro-life position.
I made a comment on the Nancy Pelosi statement as a portion of a comment on the
“Happy Birthday Mike Huckabee!” that ONE MOM posted just below on August 24.
On the Huck PAC website Mike Huckabee posted an essay on August 23 defending human life from conception, emphasizing the scientific facts.
” No one knows when human life actually begins. After all, even the Catholic church can’t figure that out.” I wish they would ask her this question a little differently. “When did the life of your child actually begin?” Maybe then she would be a little more forthright!
“When life begins is irrelevant when it comes to a woman’s right to choose to have an abortion.” This one really bothers me because if we as a society can be this cavalier with the life of a child, what’s to say that disabled people, old people or other people who don’t fit a specific mold don’t, at some point, become expendable? And who in the …. gave Pelosi and house the authority to make such decisions? I really think I need to dig out my book on impeachment and see if she would qualify! Grrrr!
“The republicans are the ones to blame for abortions anyway, because they don’t believe in contraception.” This line is priceless! Let’s not accept any responsibility and blame the other party. Additionally, the line of reasoning here is stupid! So because one party doesn’t believe in contraception than the other party kills the baby! Jeez.
Thanks for the post. This is one the most ridiculous statements she has ever made.
She is one mixed up character.
I wish Meet the Press didn’t run out of time (or that Tom Brokaw was more educated on this topic). A few very TRUTHFUL comments would have put Ms. Speaker in her place and had her saying no more. Someone get a scientist and a priest on that roundtable. I hope the media does not let this topic die and I agree w/all who said her Bishop should take action. Maybe she’ll rethink her opinion and come back to the Truth.
Wow. What can you say to something like this?
Gee, I’m so confused about what Catholics believe. In the US, there are 13,000 deacons, 45,000 priests, 159 bishops (not counting auxiliary bishops), 23 archbishops, and nine cardinals. What does the Church really believe? I think I’ll do the logical thing and ask Nancy Pelosi.
Seriously (sarcasm aside), with that many people whose lives are dedicated to spreading the Gospel as taught by the Church — and those numbers are two years old — it would seem that EVERYONE should clearly know what the Church believes on this topic. Bishops should wake up and not leave all the work to a small handfull of activist priests, whose views are invariably considered both personal and ‘on the fringe.’
Unfortunately, many before Nancy Pelosi, have tried to redefine the truth of God’s word and universe. History is riddled with the ambitious acts of man attempting to gain power by distorting God’s words and truth. All are now dust, but God’s word and truth always persists, because he has willed it. God values life. My prayers go out to our country’s leadership that they may understand God’s wisdom, truth and justice, in Jesus’s name. Amen.
Mrs Pelosi’s thirst for political power has clowded her sense of reality and common sense .Shame on you nancy ,you will have to answer to amore powerful authority ,other than the voters, one day.I think you should be excommunicated .
,, life begins at conception,

Thank you for getting my blood boiling first thing in the morning. Put simply, Nancy Pelosi is a liar. The Catholic Church believes that life begins at conception, but don’t take my word for it; this is from the Catechism of the Catholic Church:
Abortion
2270
Human life must be respected and protected absolutely from the moment of conception. From the first moment of his existence, a human being must be recognized as having the rights of a person—among which is the inviolable right of every innocent being to life.72
Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, and before you were born I consecrated you.73
My frame was not hidden from you, when I was being made in secret, intricately wrought in the depths of the earth.74
2271
Since the first century the Church has affirmed the moral evil of every procured abortion. This teaching has not changed and remains unchangeable. Direct abortion, that is to say, abortion willed either as an end or a means, is gravely contrary to the moral law:
You shall not kill the embryo by abortion and shall not cause the newborn to perish.75
God, the Lord of life, has entrusted to men the noble mission of safeguarding life, and men must carry it out in a manner worthy of themselves. Life must be protected with the utmost care from the moment of conception: abortion and infanticide are abominable crimes.76
