This is my third post about this today, but I wanted you to see the video from this morning’s Meet the Press of Nancy Pelosi stating that when life begins is irrelevant in relation to a woman’s right to choose. I would like to ask her when does a life have value? When does a life have purpose? At what point does she become uncomfortable with murder? Tom Brokaw let her off easy on this one (just as Rick Warren let Obama off by not asking him about the born alive infant protection act).
I also have a question for my Catholic readers … what are your thoughts about catholics (especially politicians) who are pro-aborts? Does the church have any recourse regarding these church members? Just off the top I can think of Pelosi, Biden, Giuliani.

I was angry before (when you describe her comments), but actually seeing her say that is so disgusting to me. The question wasn’t even when does life begin. It was, “When should babies get rights?” That is something anyone can have an opinion on whether they know anything about science or God’s Word or not. ARRR!

I have to say, as a woman, I am very disgusted and disappointed with women like Pelosi. We are supposed to be the care takers of these precious gifts and yet some of us are leading the charge to kill them!
Again, I would love someone to ask Pelosi when her children became human beings with rights? I have a sense her answer would be quite different – if she were forthright of course.

As a 21 year old Republican who was a part of RTL for 20 of those years, let me explain why I became “pro-choice”. Abortion law comes down to one law “Roe vs. Wade” and it’s precedent providing “PP vs. Casey”. I believe that John Roberts would affirm Roe v. Wade but that’s neither here nor there.
What Roe did was provide abortion equally among women regardless of income. If Roe were reveresed the only women who couldn’t get an abortion would be the poor working class. All the rich or even middle class would have to do is travel to another state and have the procedure done. It gives a whole new meaning to a “Girls Weekend”.
What makes this country great is how we make a “right” avaliable for all not just for the wealthy no matter how despicable it is. What Barack Obama and many others including myself want is to get the number of abortions down by getting rid of unwanted pregencies at the start. There is no excuse for the amount of medicine we have that any woman needs to get pregant by accident.

nancy is an embarrassment as a woman, Catholic, Italian! She knows that the Catholic Church has always stated that life begins at conception.

I feel sad and outraged as a Catholic about Nancy’s remarks. She blantantly lied about the Church’s position. She has no respect for the unborn babies and is aiding in the murder of innocent lives. May God have mercy on her soul on her judgement day. I wonder if on judgement day she will have to feel the pain that the over 40 million unborn babies felt during their abortions.
Christopher – if you are a Godly man, please pray for guidance on this issue as you are severely misguided. It is not about equal rights to abortions for different income levels. It is about a precious life that God created being snuffed out. I completely disagree that only the lower income would have not have abortions if they were illegal, but even if that is true, LIVES would still be saved!!!!!! Legalizing abortion creates the belief that these babies are not really babies. Outlawing abortions would affirm the importance of their lives and change many people’s beliefs.
As a Catholic, I hope that the Bishop will mandate that Nancy is no longer able to receive the eucharist since she is in the public state of mortal sin and therefore, not in communion with the Church.

Oh- I forgot – “rare” – is the Rhetoric all pro-choice politicians use. What in the world is their definition of rare since 1.2 million babies are murdered every year? Notice that they NEVER quote statistics on howmany abortions occur each year. Because of them, most of the public believe that abortion is not “that big of a problem”. What else in our society claims 1.2 million innocent lives per year? Only abortion! They keep saying that education will help, but that is not true. They have been trying to “educate” people on contraception and things since I was in jr. high. It has not helped. Only when an abstinence only program was started was there a decline in abortions, teen pregnancy, and STD.

You do know that if Roe were reversed that the issue would go back to the states, it would not outlaw abortion. That is what I’m aganist.
Many pro-lifers want a federal ban on abortion, a move I would support. However it will never happen. Never. We as people, pro-choice and pro-life have to come together, accept the reality of the situation (which is terrible) and work to lower the numbers of abortions in this country in a way that is fair and also effective.
