One year ago today, I took my first step into the blogging world. At the time, I had a very singular purpose for starting to blog:
The main purpose for my starting to blog is a deep sense of urgency that I must do all I can to get people to notice the candidate that will bring healing and strength back to the United States. That man is Mike Huckabee … (I still believe that Mike Huckabee is that candidate, but unfortunately we’ll have to wait until 2012).
The first two people that contacted me after that first post were Chris (with the Huckabee campaign), and Kevin Tracy. I was amazed that these two people saw my blog and contacted me. I had no idea what was to come over the next year:
- 774 Posts (775 with this one)
- 41 categories
- 113,985 visitors
- 1087 tags
- 6189 spam comments
- Most visited post: Huckabee and Homeschoolers (2592 visitors)
- My favorite post My Visit with Mike Huckabee (2149 visitors)
I have found new friends. I have found folks that can disagree and still have intelligent discussion (I’ve also found the opposite).
I have learned that one person … or OneMom … can make a difference. Ordinary people, working together carried Mike Huckabee from obscurity to national prominence. It has been an amazing year, and I am excited to see what comes next.
Thanks for reading, for being part of the discussion … God bless each of you.
With thanks …
OneMom

Kerry,
Congrats from me as well. You do a good thing with this blog and I consider you my friend. Keep up the good work.

Congratulations!
I like the inclusion of the spam comments count … although that does happen to be the one stat where I think I’m ahead of you. Ha, ha … oh, never mind …
Anyway, Congratulations!

Congratulations on your First Anniversary as an
Internet Blogger.
I first saw your comments (along with many other bloggers and contributors) on the Huckabee for President forum.

Congrats, Kerry! I think you’ve done more in your year of blogging than I have done in my two. But I guess I didn’t really get serious about until October.
I’m glad that I “met” you!

Hey congratulations! I am glad I started reading back in August or so.

Did you see that Jack Kevorkian is running for Congress in Michigan? Not the news you want on your anniversary, but I thought you would want to know if you didn’t already.

Congrats Kerry for being a major part of the good fight to save this Country. May the future Bless your efforts making Governor Huckabee leading this Nation back to it’s roots. Being part of the events of the summer and fall of your Blogg being the number one in Governor Huckabee’s explosion in his campaign, this One MOM Rocks. Tickets!

If I knew how to play an air guitar, I’d totally do a song in honor of the occasion. Rock on, anyways! And blog on, too!

Thanks everybody. When I started this last year, I never imagined where it would lead or that I would still be blogging a year later. Now my poor husband has people that only know him (including Mike Huckabee) as “OneMom’s Husband”.
Wickle, you have more spam? I am like, so totally jealous.
Kevin, I can honestly say that no one – ever – has told me to “rock on”! Thanks for the smile. Oh, and I will definitely “blog on”.
George! Nice to see you friend. You know, the price of tickets has gone up just like everything else.
Frances … thanks for the good wishes and for staying around so long!
Ronnica, Jenn, BD … thanks guys. It’s nice to count you in my “bloggy” family.
Larry and Raymond … always good to hear from both of you. I count you friends as well.

I’m a new reader who just discovered your blog and I’m reading back through the year’s worth of posts. Thanks for starting (and continuing) this blog. I had the opportunity to hear Mr. Huckabee in person shortly after he’d dropped out of the race. He spoke on education at a very large Christian school in Colorado. After hearing him speak, I really wished that he had stayed in it. Please keep this up; I would love to see him in the running again someday. Your blog could prove influential in that regard.

Hello Rob, and welcome. I believe that if every person in the country could have had even 5 minutes to speak with Gov. Huckabee, he would have won the primaries and general by a landside. A lot of important ground work was laid in this campaign, and we’ll be starting farther ahead in 2012. (I do hope you aren’t too bleary eyed from reading through my blog!).
