Tonight we walked to the fireworks show put on by our small town. It was Hannah’s first opportunity to see fireworks in person. Her reaction was priceless. Her face radiated joy from start to finish. Lots of “wows” and “oh how pretty” and “hurrays”. When the finale started I thought she would bust from the joy!

My reaction? Oh, it was one of those “mom” moments for me. I am still amazed after six years at the things that bring me to unexpected tears as I watch my precious girl experience something new or accomplish a new skill. A few years ago it was watching her carry a palm frond proudly up the aisle at church on Palm Sunday. Then it was sitting on the curb with her for her first parade. I don’t know what I’ll do when we get to the big things like graduations and a wedding! Oh my. You all might as well buy stock in tissue companies right now.
