Joseph Lieberman

I saw Joseph Lieberman on CNN this morning. Kiera Phillips asked him why he didn’t just become a Republican and he answered

“I’m a democrat in the mold of John F. Kennedy, I just think John McCain is better for the country right now”.

I was a little surprised to hear him declare himself a democrat, when he so proudly became an Independent when the DNC abandoned him in his run for re-election (he then beat his democratic opponent).

Then Kiera Phillips asked him if he was going to vote for John McCain. He responded “at least once”. A minute later, Kiera accused him of not committing to vote for McCain. He quickly made it clear to her and said “yes, I am voting for John McCain”.

Weather

There were devastating tornadoes and storms over the weekend from Missouri to the deep South and up the East coast. The headlines continue to refer to these storms as “extreme weather”. This is May in the United States, tornadoes in places such as Oklahoma, Missouri, Arkansas, Georgia are not “extreme”. My guess is they need to keep the Al Gore agenda on the front page, so they make normal weather patterns sound “extreme”.

Michigan FairTax Group

I received an email from the Michigan branch of the FairTax movement and they asked me to send them our “economic stimulus” check so that I could be assured that it’s used for good. Their basic premise was that if I spend the money it will only benefit China. Well, sorry Michigan FairTax, but we’ll be keeping the money, and for the record, I am very good at buying American.

Gas Prices

Word around Michigan is that our gas prices are going up to $3.99 a gallon in the next day or so.

Certainly feels like Monday.
