318 Presidential Candidates

Posted by: onemom on: May 12, 2008

If you don’t like the three Presidential Candidates you hear about most of the time, there are other options. I found this LIST showing 318 people running or considering running for President in 2008.

Hey -

I wanted to let you know I am posting an article about home schooling on my blog for tomorrow. My articles post at midnight AZ time. It is a case in Germany that I have been following for the past 6 months or so.

Anyway, I thought you might be interested in reading it. You can borrow any of it if you like.

Thank you for this list. This is great. Do you mind if I borrow it?

Borrow away Dominique!

I’ve been following that homeschool case in Germany as well, so I will be very interested in reading your post.

It is quite a list of presidential candidates. People file to run for president of the United States out of ego, idealism and a combination of other motivations. Very few of these candidates, including some who will head the ticket for various minor political parties, will end up being listed on the ballots of most states.
I saw another list several weeks ago under “Politics 1- 2008 Presidential Candidates” as compiled by Ron Gunzburger. I don’t think Gunzburger’s list is as full as the one you cited, but Gunzburger
does organize some information for various third or minor parties
on both the left and the right. I am personally giving a little time and research to conservative third party and major independent candidates as I consider my voting options for the presidential election this November. So far I have not found any viable candidate that strongly appeals to my own classification as a generally traditonal conservative who has special concerns about the moral/social/cultural issues. It seems to me that Libertarianism
has taken over much of what used to be considered the political right, including heavy influence even in the Constitutional Party under Chuck Baldwin. I am not a Libertarian, as there are quite a number of libertines and what I consider positions bordering on political and social anarchy in the Libertarian movement, though I do not consider
either Ron Paul or Chuck Baldwin as libertine in their own personal lives.

Since the crackdown on homeschooling has woven its way under this blog on the numerous presidential candidates, Dominique and One Mom and others are likely aware that World Net Daily internet news site has been carrying intermittent articles on the homeschooling situation in Germany and has another article on this subject posted on their site today.

Hi Raymond, good to see you. If you note the comments from Dominique and myself above, we have been tracking the Germany Homeschool situation. Dominique is posting a new article about it later tonight.

Thank you for letting me “borrow” the list of candidates.

I gotta a question for you. Are you having any trouble with my blog like loading or it being really slow when loading?
