Is Huckabee Right about Wright?

Posted by: onemom on: May 4, 2008

Following a fundraiser in Montana, Mike Huckabee was questioned by reporters about the Rev. Wright/Sen. Obama situation:

Former presidential hopeful Mike Huckabee says that Rev. Jeremiah Wright Jr. wants to derail Obama’s bid for the White House for a simple tactical reason: Wright does not want Obama to prove that America has made that much racial progress.

“His campaign is not being derailed by his race,” Huckabee told reporters following a fundraiser in Montana. “It’s being derailed by a person who doesn’t want him to prove that we have made great advances in this country.” (Chicago Tribune)

Personally, I’m not sure Wright is so detailed in his plans that his ultimate goal is to keep Obama out of the White House so he can continue to complain. Wright and his gospel of hate is frightening on many levels, with or without his association with Obama. There are likely many so called “ministers of the gospel” spewing this kind of garbage in pulpits around the country (and they may as likely be white as black), Wright just got to bring his hate to the national stage because of his relationship with Obama. Obama’s campaign needs to be derailed, and it has nothing to do with his race. Topping my list (and it’s a long one that I’ll post later) is Obama’s refusal to protect babies who are born alive during an abortion procedure. The fact that he supports abortion at all is enough for me to cross him off my list, but refusing to protect little ones born alive shows me the true darkness and evil of his soul. This is a person that must not be President of the United States. Read more HERE and HERE.

For the little ones, Obama must be stopped.

[...] OneMom has a post on her blog titled, “Is Huckabee Right About Right?” and it got me thinking about an unconsidered and probably a little far fetched theory about Reverend Jeremiah Wright’s outrageous behavior and comments during his recent media tour. [...]

Obama is definitely not the character to unite the moral foundation of this Nation. His attitude toward the baby in the womb clearly reveals his compromise to the truth and that his platform will be self fulfilling, not centered on God’s value driven way. Obama holds to the teaching of socialist Nationalism found in Marxism as does the liberal left, the black Liberation Movement and the Islam extremists.

The one voice in the wilderness which has the Love for the people and the ability to unite this Nation is Governor Michael D. Huckabee. Mike has the knowledge and experience along with the Godly foundation to save us from ourselves. His position of bringing us back to the founding Father’s knowledge and attitude on governance, holding all of humanity as equal, from conception to the grave, has him as the need of us all to put him in Washington. Senator McCain would do our Nation well to appoint Mike as the VP.

One Mom has exposed the truth of Obama. Be it Obama or Clinton, we cannot afford either to guide this Nation.

Obama has always fascinated me. When I heard him give his acceptance speech four years ago, I was wowed by his charisma. But, his positions on such issues as life are atrocious.

I think that if his campaign is going to get derailed, it’s going to tomorrow. As much as NC was favoring Obama, momentum of support seems to be swinging the other way. I believe that if Obama wins by more than a few points, it will be because of all the advanced voting.

Frankly, no. I don’t think that Huckabee is right, though it pains me to say it.

But I’d rather we move past Wright and focus on actual issues. BAIPA is one of those. The fact that he thinks babies who survive abortion should still be killed, or “allowed to die,” puts well on the wrong side of respect for life. As long as we let the national discussion get bogged down on Wright, we aren’t talking about this kind of thing.

Even NARAL didn’t take a position on BAIPA … the fact that he opposed it shows that he is, simply, an extremist.

Wickle … I am with you on all counts. Anyone who supports letting a tiny baby die has a darkness and evil in their soul and will be very dangerous in power.
