Round ‘em up

Posted by: onemom on: April 28, 2008

Thought I would do a quick round-up of headlines I found interesting, disturbing, uplifting, or otherwise noteworthy:

  • Sign me up for THIS research study!
  • Kevin Tracy has a look at the Double-Talk Express
  • The Maritime Sentry has information about abortion in Russia, and a look at how unemployment has dropped in Oklahoma since they cracked down on the hiring of illegal immigrants.
  • Larry over at My Take, has an interesting look at an alternate web browser, Opera
  • Speaking of Double-Talk. (Last fall, this legislation prevented Gov. Huckabee from travelling to some campaign events because he couldn’t afford the full price that McCain-Feingold required him to pay. But, McCain has found himself a loop hole … big enough to fly his wife’s corporate jet through … in his very own legislation. How convenient!)
  • And to make things interesting, Ron Paul supporters brought the Nevada GOP convention to its knees. It appears that Dr. Paul will NOT endorse McCain. We need Ron Paul in Congress, so even if you’re not in his district or even in Texas, please donate to his campaign.
  • If you don’t know about the Children’s Heart Project, you need to.

Kerry,

Thank you for the mention. How about this global warming weather :-) ? We actually had couple of snowflakes Sunday.

Hi DR … no global warming on this side of the lake either. It is 42 degrees here right now and clear, so they are calling for a low of 25 tonight! Good thing I’m not a gardener with millions of flowers to cover up! Stay warm friend!

I think all the global warming ended up in Phoenix. It will be near 98 today! Ugh. Too hot for me.

We have an excuse to eat chocolate now?! Yum!

Dominique … 98 is too hot on any day!

Also, I don’t really need an excuse to eat chocolate, but medical research would be a great justification!

Kerry,

Unfortunately, my kids lost all but two of their cotton plants they were growing in the window and my wife’s flowers she planted were washed away in torrential downpours. Though, I think the frost would have gotten them a few days later had they survived. We are currently 31 degrees, and that is a warm spell :)
