Dogs 1. Charter 0.

Posted by: onemom on: April 26, 2008

Well, I have been out of commission in the technology department since early Friday morning. My internet and phone are both through Charter communications and neither was working. I dread calling them, because their customer service is some of the worst on the planet.

Finally, the repairman was just here and he quickly identified the problem … “someone” had chewed through the wires running down the outside of the house. He was gracious and said it might have been squirrels (he did say they would have been VERY BIG squirrels). I happen to know those “squirrels” personally, their names are Nell (Sussex Spaniel) and Sophie (Basset Hound puppy … 13 weeks old, being led into a life of crime by the Spaniel no doubt). Bad dogs. They both have received a very stern lecture and promised never to do that again (uh huh).

At least we are free to leave the house again, instead of waiting here for the repairman.

It’s always something.

Classic, I bet they had that guilty look once they knew you found out.

Hi WarDogMarine … actually the look they gave me was more of a “what, US? we wouldn’t do that!”. Thanks for stopping by.

Kerry,
Are you sure it was “your” squirrels? They surely wouldn’t do something like that. Funny how dogs can be guilty as sin and act as Innocent as a lamb. Good story, except for the repair part.

Larry – I’m pretty sure it was my “squirrels” (they can be incredibly “squirrely”). Crazy beasts. My husband is going to construct a little barrier to keep them from a repeat performance.

What a great story! Oh My gosh!
LOL LOL
I had one of these stories this week.

My pug doesn’t like car alarms. They scare him so when they go off he barks non-stop until it stops. Well, he did that today when one went off and no matter what I said to get him to stop – he just kept going. So, frustrated, I yelled if you don’t stop it you’re going for a time out. [ I momentarily got confused that this was a dog not my daughter] (although sometimes…I can’t tell the difference :-) .

Anyway, I went around into the d/room to get him and he was gone. After searching for a few minutes I found that he had taken himself to his crate for a time out!

I just laughed!

What are you going to do?

Dominique – I wish I could teach these 2 to go for a timeout! Dogs are funny little creatures aren’t they? Thanks for sharing your dog story of the day.

Our dogs are a little rascals too, but they steal socks. We found about 7 pair in the back yard the other day.
