Great point! The same goes for the Conservative “Chattering Class.” Shame on Mitt and shame on them all! I am starting to get really frustrated with both.

Mitt has shown what kind of President he would be, a cross between John Edwards and Hillary Clinton. Anyone unwilling to speak the truth about their faith can not be trusted to the tell the truth about anything.

If Mitt played baseball his name would be at the top of the “Cheating at all costs to win”. That is not the kind of leadership we need.

Mike Crawford

Mitt Romney doesn’t have a plan on any issue, all he has done his entire campaign is bash other candidates because his record is so abysmal. I hope the American people will wake up and realize slick Mitt is that last person we need in the white house.

CAn you blame him? What would you do if you spent 18 million of your own and are trailing a guy who spent a couple million dollars of his contributors.

Oh yeah, nice Basset Hound. I’ve got SIX of ‘em. ;o)

Romney is a flip flopping flake, I just found out that he has stock in all of the companies that are major promoters of homosexual rights & abortions, he is not going to do anything to these companies or the procedures but try to implement things that would advance them another example of how eloquent speaking politicians are embedded within Wall Street! HE IS ANOTHER WALL STREET CANDIDATE!

all this rhetoric is follishnes and an intent denial to dismiss truth. The Demo-wacks have had control over congress for 2 years now and have done NOTHING but fund pork barrel projects and have not come close to making any kind of real progress that the promised their poor demo-wack supporters. There credibility is SHOT! and as for Huckabee… People fear that he will win, which he is… At this point I will vote for anybody other than a Demowack. i am so frustrated that I have changed party position and will vote Repub this year.

christmas is the celebration of the birth of jesus christ and if anyone do not want to celebrate it then don’t but remember, each time you give a gift to someone else, you are mimicking the 3 wise men that gave gifts to jesus at his birth and most importantly, you are mimicking the giving factor that God gave his only begotten son to the world. So whether you formally ccelebrate or deny it, each gift given is a reflection of God Giving Christ to the earth as a gift. and i am happy to have received a merry christmas wish from a governmental official.. which that does not happen at all now a days! I am so proud of Huckabee i do not know what to do. He is a man of principle and he surely just sealed the deal with my vote. He will win and big he will, and while the pundits try to demise him, or his other political rivals try to make him look bad. They may want to look at the mirror at themselves. You got flip flopping mitt, dead fred, pimped out guiliani , small brain mccain, and “paul is crazy and deranged”!

And as for the Dems: you got Hell-ary that have sold her soul to the left party lobbyist in america, and you got chronic smoking Obama? which neither one has ANY experience in foreign policy. If it was not for Hell-ary having bill clinton last name, she would not even be known.

Huckabee is the sure winner and will win big. I can not wait for romney to get out of the race. i bet he will go back to hiring illegals to work in his yard. check more out about him at http://www.massresistance.org he is the biggest flake since kellogs!

PRESIDENT MIKE HUCKABEE / VICE PRESIDENT JOHN MCCAIN 2008

Before we all cast stones at Romney, lets take a look at how Huckabee himself speaks ill of other Republicans. You won’t have to leave this website to be educated on that. Oh yea, Reagan’s 11th Commandment? I didn’t realize that he wrote the first 10.

These are only the attacks he takes credit for. You will also begin to see attacks come from Mitt ‘greasing palms’ of special interest groups. He’s a very devious man and will do ANYTHING to win the office, but will do nothing to uplift our country!

I just pray the voters are willing to look into the facts and seek the full story before accepting the attacks as truthful. It will be a very sad day when the nomination is bought and not earned by the candidate. Thanks for sharing this revealing composite of Romney’s attack ads.

Response to Jim T.:
In Physics class we all learned that a “black hole” sucks everything into it when it gets within a certain distance to it-including space junk. What you and I are seeing are the supporters, including the media being drawn into the black hole of politics. This process exposes Romney for who he really is. Envision him as the captain on a sinking ship, who has forgotten where his white flag is placed. In light of what you are seeing, do you think that he will be as a gracious loser?

Yes, Romney maybe in a bit of a quandry but read the blog entry at http://alabamaforhuckabee.blogspot.com/ on another candidate that isn’t willing to go away with out a fight and why he is still in the race is mind boggling.

Article: Mike Huckabee WILL Stop the Car and Fix the Flat.

I am deeply concerned about the misrepresentation of Romney as a conservative in this presidential race. As a stay at home PTA mom from Maryland, I have followed Massachusetts politics via email news from http://www.MassResistance.org since the 2003 court redefinition of marriage in Massachusetts. Living in a “blue” state, I was very concerned about the impact of the redefinition of marriage on what is promoted in the public schools. Their comprehensive report of Romney on their website is very well documented. Entitled, “The Mitt Romney Deception”, they state “Indeed, this report will demonstrate that Romney was probably the most pro-abortion and pro-gay rights Republican official in the nation for the last decade.” I believe them. The evidence is overwhelming.

I am also very concerned about a terrible conflict of interest. Mitt Romney’s company, private equity firm Bain Capital, where he is still a silent partner, just completed after 1 year of pending negotiations a leveraged buyout agreement for $19.5 billion, of Clear Channel Communications. Premiere Radio Networks, which is the largest syndication company in the United States, is a wholly owned subsidiary of Clear Channel and is home to Rush Limbaugh, Glenn Beck, and many others. Sean Hannity recently signed a large multi-market contract with Clear Channel. Romney’s campaign finance chief, Robert F. White, a partner at Bain Financial. According to CNN/Money magazine, some 43% of Romney’s portfolio is currently invested in Bain Capital.

I cannot understand the supposedly conservative twittering class.

Why they go out of their way to damage this good man’s record and character?

I believe it will undermine their true motives eventually, for they also break Reagan’s 11th commandment!

I know I am looking at them with suspicion now.

If posting Huckabees’ voting record is viewed as being negative information, maybe the Huckster shouldn’t have voted that way in the first place. If he is proud of his voting record on immigration and taxes, then the ads are anything but negative. Just comparisons, so people can know where each candidate stands. Then pick you candidate.

Speaking of negativity, Huckabee, (the Baptist preacher, for any of you who have missed that pandering), makes negative comments about Mormons constantly through innuendo and sly questions, such as the Jesus/Satan thing. Then he pretends (remember, he is a former Baptist Preacher, just in case you didn’t figure this out the last time I said it) that he knows little about Mormons and their beliefs. Yes, this is the same Huckabee (the former Baptist Preacher) who went to the Salt Lake City Southern Baptists Convention and preached anti-Mormon garbage there.

Not that religion has anything to do with qualifications for President of the United States, but you would think that Huckabee (you know, . . .The former Baptist Preacher), being all righteous and above all the negativity, would at least let us know what his real qualification are to run the country, balance the budget, end the war, lower taxes, etc.

Hey, lets just all go vote for him because, you know, he is a former Baptist Preacher (Christian and all), just like us!

I am lds ( a mormon ). I am christian. I am planning on voting for Huckabee. My wife is planning on voting for Giuliani. She is convinced that Huckabee is anti-mormon. I am not convinced. I think supporters of the various candidates say much more hate-filled and absurd things than the candidates themselves do. I am a news junkie – I have seen truckloads of it. While Huckabee has said some suspicious things, I don’t believe that he is anti-mormon. My wife says that I am naive. I believe in Huckabee and I am going to vote for him. Please everyone, let’s take the high road and remain civil in our political discussions. If someone disagrees with me politically, I do not label them something ugly. We still have to live in the same country after this election is over.

In case there’s anyone who has not yet figured this out, for true insight into Mitt Romney, just understand this: Mitt is for Mitt.

The MSM is just telling everyone that he is a Baptist Preacher as if he has no political experience whatsoever. They seem to forget he was a Governor of Arkansas for 10 1/2 yrs, also the very state that Bill Clinton is from. Also, they say he has no foreign policy experience, what Governor is recent history that has been elected President does? Huckabee, in my opinion, represents middle class & the poverty in this great nation, he can’t be bought. The chattering class that is out there is wondering why Huckabee is succeeding, and it is because America has woke up done their research and has realized we want change. The Washington elites don’t know what I live or how I live. It has been far too long that any of them lived paycheck to paycheck. Trying to support our families and having nothing left after paying bills and buying food. Then the public schools are always wanting to sell stuff for money or give money for this or that.

I believe this would change if we had school choice. At my kids school in LA. the administraton knows which parents have money and which parents do not, and they pander to them. We do not join PTA since that money is given to help the NEA or the LAE (LA Association of Educators). I hope once Huckabee is elected President that homeschoolers have it better so they don’t have to have curriculum approved as in my state, and not be targets for Child Protection.

Thanks One Mom for pointing out the attacks Romney has gotten out there. It is sad he has to attack instead of pointing out his record, this is a distraction for the people. But it is time that “We the People” stand up and say enough is enough. We evangelical Christians are supporting Huckabee for more than him being a Christian. Mitt is phoney and a “slick Willy” like Bill Clinton!

Here are facts from factcheck.org on Romney’s record. He is in fact a liar.

Romney on Huckabee
December 13, 2007
His ad strains to create black-and-white contrasts from blurry shades of gray.
Summary
An ad by Romney strains the facts in attempting to portray a stark contrast between him and Huckabee.

The ad says both Romney and Huckabee are “pro-life,” which is true now but glosses over Romney’s recent conversion.

The ad says “the difference” between the two is that Romney “vetoed in-state tuition for illegal immigrants” while Huckabee supported it. But Romney’s immigrant-bashing stance is also recent. In 2004 he said, “I hate the idea” of making college unaffordable for children of illegal immigrants.

Analysis
The ad began airing throughout Iowa this week. In form it is a straightforward “comparative” ad, focusing on the two candidates’ stands on the issues. But the picture it presents is the result of some political Photoshopping. The result: an ad whose contrasts are far sharper than we see in real life.

In it, an announcer lauds former Massachusetts Gov. Romney and former Arkansas Gov. Huckabee as “two good family men” who are “both pro-life” and oppose same-sex marriage. It says “the difference” between the two is on immigration, reminding voters that Huckabee supported in-state tuition rates for children of undocumented immigrants, and stating that Romney vetoed a similar bill in Massachusetts.

Choice: The Record

Mitt Romney: I’m Mitt Romney and I approved this message.

Announcer: Two former governors…two good family men…Both pro-life…both support a constitutional amendment protecting traditional marriage…

The difference?

Mitt Romney stood up, and vetoed in-state tuition for illegal aliens…opposed driver’s licenses for illegals.

Mike Huckabee? Supported in-state tuition benefits for illegal immigrants. Huckabee even supported taxpayer-funded scholarships for illegal aliens.

On immigration, the choice matters.
The Minister and the Convert

The ad presents a too-sharp focus at the start when it implies that Romney and Huckabee have identical records on abortion.

Announcer: Two former governors … two good family men … Both pro-life.

It’s true that both Huckabee and Romney oppose abortion – now. But Huckabee was pro-life while he was governor. Romney, not so much. Don’t take our word for it. Here’s Romney at a September debate in Iowa:

Romney: I never said I was pro-choice, but my position was effectively pro-choice. I’ve said that time and time again. I’ve changed my position.

We don’t begrudge Romney the right to change his mind, and he’s been open about the fact that his position has changed. But many Iowa voters may still be unaware of that, and this ad implies that there’s no difference between these two candidates on abortion. That’s a stretch.

Let Them Pick Lettuce

The second half of the ad contrasts the positions of the two on immigration:

Announcer: Mitt Romney stood up, and vetoed in-state tuition for illegal aliens … opposed driver’s licenses for illegals. Mike Huckabee? Supported in-state tuition benefits for illegal immigrants. Huckabee even supported taxpayer-funded scholarships for illegal aliens.

It’s true, as we pointed out previously, that a plan Huckabee supported would have granted in-state tuition rates and eligibility for scholarships to any student who had attended an Arkansas public high school for at least three years, regardless of immigration status. It’s also true that Romney vetoed a similar bill in 2004. But Romney’s illegal immigrant bashing is of fairly recent vintage.

In 2004, the Boston Globe reported that Romney was reluctant to veto the tuition proposal – and not at all the certain, sure-footed decision maker portrayed in the ad. At the time, Romney said:

Romney (June 2004): I hate the idea of in any way making it more difficult for kids, even those who are illegal aliens, to afford college in our state. But equally, perhaps a little more than equally, I do not want to create an incentive to do something which is illegal.

Romney wasn’t a hardliner on immigration until late in his tenure as governor. As we have written, he took no action to punish the “sanctuary cities” that he now rails against. And while he boasts that he authorized state troopers to enforce federal immigration law, that order came at the end of his term, never went into effect and was overturned by his successor.

None of the specifics presented here are false, but the ad presents a black-and-white contrast that doesn’t exist in reality.

What I really do not understand is why Gov Romney thinks he can get away with the “X is bad, but look at my record” tactic when the last thing he needs is for someone to scrutinize his record.

I understand that he had a political conversion of sorts and I do not begrudge his change of heart. It is just that, all things being equal, records are the only real testimony we the voters have to go by.

In the end, we have Romney with one to two years of executive experience as a truly conservative ruler (though he was not elected as a conservative) and Huckabee with 10.5 years of consistent conservative service.

This is more than a “the devil you know” tactic for eliminating the lesser candidate. In this case, the credentials demonstrated by Huckabee’s years of dedicated service show you exactly what type of president you will get.

In my humble opinion, that is exactly what America needs at this time.

I like Mitt, but I have questions about him. He has to understand that no self-respecting voter feels confident in the promise of a politician and that is all he offers: a promise.

“I was bad before, but I am alright now.”

Who in their right mind runs on that platform?

Mitt may indeed be the best candidate for president.

But not now.

He needs some actual experience ruling as a conservative for at least a full term before voters can feel comfortable voting for him.

this is for J Scott…
Don’t assume that just because someone supports Huckabee means that it is because he is a Baptist or Christian. Interesting that you mention the “former Baptist minister” portion in your sarcastic rant. Mike makes it a huge point that he wishes the media would report as well that Time magazine named him one of the 5 best governors. I believe you will find many wonderful qualifications and solutions if only you would take some time yourself to get past the media smear and visit http://www.mikehuckabee.com. If you are truly fair and considerate you will look at the facts, or could it be that you are afraid you just might like him? I am personally voting for him because he has integrity, he is genuine, he unites people, and he is an intelligent straightforward communicator. The fact that he was a “Baptist minister” has zero to do with my decision.
