Tim Tebow, the sophomore quarterback at Florida won the Heisman Trophy earlier this evening.
Normally, I would not consider this to be big news, but there is so much more to this story than just college football.
Tim is the youngest of 5 children. His parents were missionaries in the Phillipines when he was conceived. Due to Tim’s mom having a serious infection and being given powerful medications, the doctor there recommended that the Tebows have an abortion, because the fetus was surely terribly damaged. Of course that was not an option for the Tebows, and Tim was born healthy and strong.
They returned to the United States when Tim was about 3 years old, and have lived on a farm in Florida ever since. Tim and his siblings were all homeschooled k-12. When he won the Heisman this evening, he was surrounded by his family (except one sister who is a missionary in Asia and was waiting by the phone for news). The first thing he said when he took the podium was: “Before I say anything else, I want to give the glory to my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ”.
Even if you don’t follow college football, if you are pro-life and if you homeschool, Tim Tebow’s story is one that should give us all encouragement.

Copy and paste the link below to read an article about Tim Tebow from a local christian newspaper in my area. It’s quite interesting. The paper is own by the church I attend in Ft Lauderdale. Calvary Chapel.
GO GATORS!!! GO HUCKABEE!!!

Actually, all of Timmy’s family was there – even his missionary sister was able to leave Bangladesh to join the family. And he was more excited about that than the award earlier that night. Isn’t it great that the news and media didn’t edit out his thank you’s?! Of course, they couldn’t when it was live. But how cool it is to have a saintly role model in sports these days!

I hadn’t heard who won the Heisman until I read your blog … that’s awesome … great post!
I know it’s annoying when people do this, but I’m trying to get the word on this awesome t-shirt out. I know the person selling it. It’s a must for any Huckabee supporter during the Christmas season, not to mention a great gift idea. Plus, after Huckabee is president, it’ll be a collector’s item!
Check it out at: http://jeremymonteith.blogspot.com/2007/12/check-out-this-beauty.html
Email HuckabeeNewYearShirts@gmail.com if interested.
I know this might look shady, but it’s legit. We want Iowa, New Hampshire, South Carolina and beyond to be covered with these shirts! I think the seller might even cut a deal with you for higher quantities.
If you contact the email address, you’ll be given a phone number and can talk to the person selling the shirts to make shipping/payment arrangements. You will not get ripped off.
Sorry to hi-jack your blog, but this could be big. The media will love these shirts … a new, fun, fresh approach to presidential campaigning!
“MERRY CHRISTMAS AND A HUCKABEE NEW YEAR!!”
