I just finished watching the American Solutions live internet broadcast of Mike Huckabee presenting on two of his favorite issues – education and health. Governor Huckabee was eloquent and passionate as he spoke on both of these topics. Replays of all workshops (along with Newt Gingrich’s opening and closing remarks) will be available on the American Solutions website.

A couple of random thoughts:

1. Newt Gingrich invited every Presidential candidate to participate in this non-partisan event and to prevent workshops. Mike Huckabee was the only candidate to accept his invitation.
2. A person in the audience asked Governor Huckabee if he could speak with such depth and eloquence on other issues that are important to the American people … his response was “I can … I am able to, but today I am here not as a man running for President, but as a former Governor with personal and political experience in the two topics which I’ve talked about today”.
3. Governor Huckabee’s participation in this event demonstrates yet again that he places the United States and the American people more important than trying to squeeze in one more stump speech and trying to squeeze another dollar out of a campaign crowd. One of the other republicans running for President commented earlier this week that he did not attend the PBS -debate because “hey, it’s the end of the quarter, I’ve got to raise money”.

I encourage you to watch Mike Huckabee’s workshop entitled Transforming Education with Art, Music and Personalized  Learning … and … Transforming Health Care with Wellness and Ownership. Go to American Solutions to watch the re-broadcast of this and other workshops.

I also want to encourage you to think about the significance of Mike Huckabee choosing to be involved in these workshops while the other candidates in both parties are out raking in more money. What’s most important for a President … Money or Message? Empty promises to get your money and your vote, or a person with conviction and character that can (and has) bring both sides of the aisle together to build up this country and our citizens?
