Update (8/26/07): Click HERE to read an interview with Lance Armstrong in the Cedar Rapids Gazette.
On August 18th, I posted information and commentary about the two Cancer Forums that Lance Armstrong is hosting for Democratic and Republican Presidential Candidates to discuss how they plan to address the serious health problem of Cancer.
You may read my full post by clicking HERE. Regardless of my reservations about the missed opportunity for this to be an indepth conversation about Health Promotion, Disease Prevention and Health Care – Mr. Armstrong instead wants to discuss cancer in this country – I still believe this can be a beneficial forum, and will give more Americans the chance to hear substantive commentary from Mike Huckabee.
Candidates who have confirmed their attendance are:
Democrats:
- Hillary Clinton
- John Edwards (no surprise here, with his wife’s public battle with Cancer)
- Dennis Kucinich
- Bill Richardson
Republicans:
- Sam Brownback
- Mike Huckabee
- (Tommy Thompson confirmed before the Iowa Straw Poll, but after a disappointing finish there, he has dropped out of the Presidential race and will not be attending).
Some details:
Some things that surprise me about this:
If I find any more information about these forums, I will update this posting. If not, then make sure you set your VCR or whatever recording device you use for MSNBC on Monday and Tuesday mornings .
Stay strong everybody …
Kerry
Thanks for reporting on the Lance Armstrong forum.
I find it really strange that some of the major candidates are not participating. Especially Ron Paul, I mean the guy is a Doctor, you would think he would find a forum like this important..
Thanks for the information.
Will these forums, like most discussions of cancer ignore the major contributions of animal-based diets to cancer?
It is another “inconvenient truth” that should not be ignored.
